Santa Clara Data Center

The Santa Clara data center campus takes our unique data center experience to the next level. Set amongst 15+ acres of controlled land, the Santa Clara data center campus is fully entitled for nearly 500,000 square feet of data center development over four facilities, with abundant utility power supplied from diverse Silicon Valley Power substations and connectivity options that include dark fiber to CoreSite San Jose, access to 100+ Bay Area networks and service providers, and IP peering on the nation’s second largest IXP.

The campus element is an important differentiator for enterprises of all sizes and industries looking to secure outsourced data center and colocation space. Risk of scalability constraints are dramatically reduced in a campus environment, with the land ownership and development plan already in place. Enjoy increased interconnection opportunities, with each campus customer being one cross-connect away. For carriers and service providers, the Santa Clara data center campus has been intellignetly designed for easy street-level fiber tie-in via numerous manhole locations. There is even an on-campus substation planned for 2012.

Private Data Centers and Suites

Our Santa Clara data center campus has private data centers and suites available for immediate move-in for large enterprises looking to secure large, private space with dedicated infrastructure and access controls. Unlike many of our competitors who will only sell dedicated wholesale data center space in pre-packaged chucks of 1.125 MW, 250 KW or like increment, we are able to work with you to customize each private data center offering to your unique deployment.

Santa Clara Colocation

The Santa Clara data center campus offers secure, well-connected colocation opportunities as well. Whether your needs are as simple as a 4.8 KW cabinet or a bit more complex such as a large, custom-built cage, the Santa Clara data center campus is the ideal colocation enivronment. Grow at your pace, with the comfort of available CoreSite capacity when it is time for your next expansion. As for connectivity, With more than 100 customers in the Bay Area alone, from the Fortune 500 to the world’s largest social sites to Tier 1 carriers, we have a proven track record of developing network-rich co-location ecosystems.

New networks are being added frequently and on-campus carriers and service providers are ready to address your connectivity needs. If you have a specific carrier or service provider in mind, our relationship with more than 200 across our portfolio makes procurement easy and efficient.

Award-Winning Data Center Energy Efficiency

The Santa Clara data center campus features innovative data center design, engineered to deliver optimal Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE). CoreSite data centers utilize 97%-efficient UPS units, air-side economization, customized cooling systems, and other efficiencies to achieve a projected campus PUE below 1.3.

We received Silicon Valley Power’s Energy Innovator award as well as LEED Gold certification for its energy-efficient design of 2901 Coronado, the first campus data center delivered in Q1 of 2010. 2972 Stender Way, the second campus data center, is also LEED Gold designed with a projected PUE of 1.26.

Santa Clara Campus Breakdown

Data Center 1: 2901 Coronado Drive

2901 Coronado Drive is a 50,000 SF data center that was completed in Q1 of 2010. This LEED Gold certified, SSAE-16 compliant data center is currently 100% leased as a private data center for one of the largest technology companies in the world.

Data Center 2: 2972 Stender Way

2972 Stender Way is a 101,000 SF data center that was completed on July 21, 2011. 2972 Stender Way is also designed to LEED Gold specifications and will undergo an SSAE-16 audit. The data center will feature both private data centers and suites as well as cage-to-cabinet colocation, purpose-built to devlier a highly-reliable, secure, multi-tenant data center environment with the potential to become the next Interconnection hub. 2972 features a “unique-to-CoreSite” cooling process that maximizes PUE and WUE, devlering what we believe to be one of the most efficient, environmentally responsible data centers in the US.
